Welcome aboard our multipurpose vessel

With a very large front deck, the whole starboard side and rear of the vessel as well as the back platform offering plenty of space for drift fishing with bait boards and rod holders.

We have a great open back deck area with a Huon pine table and seating and a large cool box for drinks. Bathroom amenities are located x1 on the back deck and x 2 inside with a dining area along with 4 x 2 berth and 1 x 4 berth air -conditioned cabins below decks.

Our extended charters range from 4 up to 14 nights and beyond. Tura caters for groups of minimum 10 up to 12 passengers. Less than the minimum guests are welcome to join us on-board based on the minimum day charge of the vessel.

Tenders

1 x 4.5 metre and 1 x 4.3 metre tenders are available, equipped with VHF radios, rod holders, mandatory safety equipment, anchor, rope and gaff.

  • The operator of a tender will be responsible for safe operations always and acknowledge operating and understanding of safety equipment and radios supplied.
  • A recreational boat licence is required to operate the tenders.  (All Australian State and Territory Licenses are excepted).  Law requires operators of the tenders to be under 0.05 always.

If you have any dietary requirements please advise us at the time of your booking.

Daily hire rates include the following:

Extras:

  • BYO:  Beverages, Fishing Gear & Tackle
  • Freight home for your catch if required.
  • If you are flying, consider AN extra luggage payment on your return home as an option to take your catch home with you (please check with the airline(s) you are travelling with).  We can supply airline boxes (charges apply).
  • A relocation fee will apply for departures from any other port.

Your Catch

  • Your catch will be filleted by our crew, snap frozen, (some can be kept whole) packed and ready for you to take home.

Northern Charters

Our charters range from 4 up to 14 nights to the Swain Reefs, Capricorn bunker Group, and Shoalwater Bay areas. If you have another choice please don’t hesitate to ask us and we will do our best to cater for your preferred destination.

Fishing Gear and Tackle

We do not supply fishing gear and tackle. Everyone has a personal preference for their tackle, so we compiled a list of items you may consider bringing with you.

The following tackle shops are both on hand  to offer advice and set you up with competitively priced fishing gear if required.

Gladstone

Gladstone Marina

Swain Reefs, Shoalwater Bay areas

  • Departure time between 3.30-4.30 returning to port between 3am -5am
  • You will be able to load your gear onto the Tura any time after 11am and ask that everyone be settled onboard by 2.30pm latest.

Capricorn Bunker Group

  • Between 10pm-midnight – Boarding from 3pm onwards and ask that everyone be settled on board by 8.30 latest. returns to port between 7pm-midnight

Vehicles

  • If you require parking for vehicles / trailers etc. while you are out on charter you can access information and Terms and Conditions through Compleat Angler at the Marina (Phone 07- 49727283).

Getting to Gladstone

  • Gladstone is approx. 600kms or a 6hr car, bus, Express Tilt Train journey north of Brisbane - QLD
  • Gladstone is serviced by Qantas / Aliiance from Brisbane approximately 1hr flight time.
  • Blue and White Taxis (07 4972 1800 / 131008) service the Airport to the Marina, and it is approximately a 10 minute drive.

 

 

Southern Charters

Beautiful pristine waters offer up some amazing fishing in these beautiful remote areas in and around Tasmania from deep sea fishing, searching for Southern Rock Lobster and Abalone or just exploring some of the amazing Islands.

Please look up and outward while on board as the scenery in these areas is awesome from beautiful clear white beaches to the rugged and wild mountains meeting the water almost on a gallop. A feed of Southern Rock Lobster and or black and green lip Abalone can also wet the appetite.

Bottom Fishing

Tasmanian Trumpeter, Flathead, edible gummies and Snapper is a great start

TROLLING

If you like trolling, catches such as Southern Blues, Bill Fish, Albacore etc. can really make your experience a really memorable occasion.

Our charters include the Kent, Hogan and Furneaux Groups in Eastern Bass Strait down to the crystal clear waters of the East including the Bay of Fires, Wine Glass Bay, Fortescue Bay and the Tasman Peninsula. If you choose Hobart as a departure point you can take in the wonders on offer past Bruny Island, SE and South Cape, the Maatsuyker Group then past SW Cape to Port Davey or beyond.

There is also the West and North West coast of Tasmania including King Island, Cape Grim and the Hunter Group then South past Mount Cameron, West Point, Sandy Cape and Macquarie Harbour

We are able to plan voyages all around Tasmania so let us know your preferred destination and we will do our utmost to accommodate your request.  Departure and arrival times advised on booking.
